Pella's Pig part 2

Now Pella was getting frustrated. ''Were are you, Pig!'' she yelled. Just then she heard a squeal from in the bushes. She looked in that direction but saw nothing. ''Pig!'' she yelled again.''Pig, pig pi-'' But then she was cut short. Because from the bushes was rising.... ''Pig?'' Yes, a great and mighty pig, dressed in a beautiful pink cape! ''Piggy!'' yelled Pella, running towards the rising pig.

''Stop right there, my lady,'' said the pig in a deep voice.

"Wait a minute,'' said Pella. ''Are you my pig or are you someone else's?'' said Pella.

"I am the pig of triumph! Also known as super pig! So what is your problem?''

The Corn Maze

This year, like every year, we went to the corn maze! This years theme was dinosaurs. I still don't think they are real. Anyways,  it was really fun! It wasn't as cold as usual.  We kept on ending up in the eye of the dinosaur. There was this one spot called dino dig that we really liked. At first we thought that you coulden't go in. Later though, I discovered a way in! Also, like every year, I found a wooly bear caterpillar! Jasper named him crawly, because he crawled all over. He was actally asleep when we found him, but he woke up when Jasper dropped him. Nonnie left with Pella  in the middle of the maze though, because Pella had to go to the bathroom. Afterwards, Nonnie showed we pigs, and chicks, chickens, bunnies, a fake cow, and 3 turkeys. I had a good time.

Pella's Pig

Once  upon a time, in a land far away, there was a little girl. Her name was Pella. Now Pella had wanted a pig for what seemed like a really long time. So on her 3rd birthday, her Dada gave her a big box, wrapped in a pink tissue paper, with holes in the top. Now Pella thought that was strange, so she decided to open it last. But when she opened it, she discovered a squeally, wonderful little piglet! She picked it up and ran to hug Dada! Then Dada showed her a little pig pen that he had made, and Pella put her piglet into it, and Dada gave her some carrots to feed the pig. Pella took care of her and fed her everyday. Then one day, her pig escaped! Pella was really blue. So the next day she went looking for her pig. Now by this time, her pig had grown so much that she was almost as big as Pella! (This is six months after Pella got her pig.) The first place she looked was in the grassy area around the pig pen. Her pig wasn't there.

A random story

Once a pon a time, there was a little girl. Her name was Helium. Helium really liked balloons. Then, one day, Helium went to the Dollar Tree. Her mom told her she could get one thing. When Helium heard that, she got excited! She looked up and down each of the isles, looking for something she liked. Then, when she got close to the front, she saw them! Balloons! Lots of Balloons everywhere! She chose a balloon and showed it to her mom. Then, she bought it. On the way out, Helium's mom told her to hold onto her balloon, or eltse it would float away. When they got home, helium put the balloon on her bed. She played with it every day. Then, one day, Helium's friend, Cheeseburger, came over to play. She brought over her balloon, too. Then they decided to go out side. Helium and  Cheeseburger went to play hopscotch.  Cheeseburger was smart, and tied hers to a tree. But Helium just wanted to play and so put her balloon next to the tree, thinking it would stay. But then, as Helium played hopscotch, her balloon began to float. Up and up it went, until finally it was invisible. When hopscotch was over, Cheeseburger untied her balloon, paying no attention that Helium's was missing. Then Cheeseburger's mom came and Cheeseburger left. So Helium went to get her balloon and go back inside. But when she got there, her balloon was missing! She looked up just in time to see the her balloon disappear. Then Helium went inside, crying. She never forgot about her balloon. Then 30 years later, after LOTS of training, Helium became an astronaut! On when she was in space, she noticed an object floating by, and realized it was a balloon. She then remembered when her balloon had floated away. Then, she remembered the color and shape of her balloon. And then, she noticed that that balloon floating in outer space was hers! She could not believe it! Then when she had a chance, she went out and got it, and when she got back to her on earth, she put it in her room and never took it outside again. THE END.

Eben's Birthday

Last Monday was Eben's 11th birthday! He had lots of fun. There is just one thing wrong. EBEN CAN NOT BE 11 YET!!! He is growing up to fast, I think. I have all ways wanted to be as old as him, but now he is 2 years older than me. Anyways, I really liked his party! He had a wii party, and invited a ton of guests. We had it at the church, in the upper jim. There were 3 projectors and 1 TV.  On the TV at first there was Bowling, then we changed it to Just Dance. On two of the other ones there was Wii Party and  Mario Kart 8. On the last one it was Get The Flag, Go Vacation, but later it was changed to Just Dance Disney. Just Dance was the most popular. There was almost always at least 3 people there. Almost everyone Eben invited came! Mostly, Eben played Wii Party. For his cake he had brownies stacked on top of each other. It took him 16 tries to blow out his candles. (I counted!) At present time Eben got a frog! Also, I have to mention that Mama and Dada got him new heelys! He actually earned them a little bit ago but they came the day before his party so Mama told me to wrap them up. Also, Eben got a ship that Papa, our great grandpa, got him before he died when Eben was 3. Eben had a really fun birthday. It was a lot of fun.

A Berg Story part 4

Mama: Because I saw you get into the pizza truck and drive away! Berg, you are in big trouble. Berg: I am? All I did was steal a pizza truck and break the Rakovitzes house. Nothing big. Mama: Berg! those are really big things! Now I might go to jail for you stealing! Berg: But Mama, in the movies jails were made of chocolate! And movies don't lie, Mama. Movies don't lie. Mama: Berg, movies always lie-unless they tell the truth. Well, anyways, Berg you have to get home and continue your nap. Well, good bye Mrs. Rakovitzes. Thank you for letting us stop by! ( After arriving home ) Mama: Berg get in bed now. Berg: Okay! Sure Mama, Good nap. Oh, and Mama? Now can I get a sip of water? Mama: Yes.

A Berg Story part 3

Berg: Bye, Eben! (Being in the pizza truck again says) Okay, so how do I get to the Rakovitzes house? Oh, now I remember. I just go down something street, turn up I don't know street, and then go left on a different street. ( After following his directions) Wait a minute! How am I here! I followed my directions… wait, those were the directions I made up while I was playing with Pella earlier! Now I am lost. Wait, I have been here before. This is the Rakovitzes street! I am a genius! And there is our van! So I don't know how to park a car unless it has a little cement thing in front of the pizza truck. That is no big deal! I'll just drive right in to the house, like a drive through. Here I go! Rooooom! Crash! Now I will just take the weight of of the pedal thing. There! Hi Mama! I learned how to drive a pizza truck today! Mama: Ahhhhh! Berg! What did you do? Berg: I told you. I learned how to drive a pizza truck. Mama: Are you the one that stole the pizza  truck from that delivery guy? Berg: Yes! How did you know?

A Berg Story, part 2

Berg: Ahhhh! How does Mama make this look so easy! Maybe I should take the weight off of the pedal thing. Hey that worked! Now all I have to do is ask Eben how to get home. Ok, up the church steps and Into the gym. Hey, there is Eben! Eben, Eben Eben! How do I get home? You see, I was minding my own business, taking a nap, when I needed a sip of water. Then I wound up in a pizza truck at church. Eben: Berg! I did not know that you can drive a pizza truck! How do I know your story is true! Berg: Come out side, I will show you. See? There is my pizza truck. Eben: Wow Berg! That is awesome! Anyways, Mama is at the Rakovites house. Berg: Thank you, Eben!

Tangled week

This week we had Tangled week. It was more of 3 days of Tangled stuff, because on Monday we were on vacation. First, we made our schedules on Tuesday. Then, on Wednesday, we started Tangled week. We did not do Tangled week based on the whole movie, just on the ''When will my life begin'' song. We (Mama) decided we should see if it is possible to do it. Rapunzel had a really tight schedule! If you have watched the movie, have you noticed that she gets all of her cleaning done in 15 minuets? Anyways, we had 3 minuets to sweep the floor, which I did the kitchen. Then, we had 2 minutes to polish and wax (one chair), 3 minuets to do laundry, 3 minuets to mop, 2 minuets to do the dishes and 2 minuets to sweep again! The ''we'' is referring to Eben, Jasper and I. Opal would do it but the earliest time she can wake up at is usually 8:03, not 6:30. Chores was the only crammed part of the schedule; for all of the other things we had at least 15 minuets. On friday, we hung a sheet over the part of the new garage that is visible from the back yard. Then Dada moved the projector outside and we had outdoor movie night! We watched the movie Tangled. Tangled week was really fun!

A Berg Story by: Kivi

This is a made up story about Berg, my little brother. '' Once upon a time, Berg was taking a nap. Then, he needed a sip of water. Berg:'' I am going to go get a sip of water. La la la la la. Hey Mama? I need a sip of water.'' Mama: Sure but your water cup is in the car.'' '' Berg: Ok! I will be right back. Hmm. Oh, there is my water. Hey, I see the drivers seat! I am going to try it out. This is fun! Hey, what does this pedal do? Ahhhhhhh! I am driving! Wait a minute, this isn't our van. This is a pizza truck! Look, there is the pizza delivery guy! He is waving to me! Hi, can I borrow your pizza truck? To late! Now, how does this thing work? Oh, maybe this weight goes on the pedal. Wow, this goes fast. Now, pizza time.'' After eating 3 pizzas… '' Oh boy, I am stuffed. Hey there is the church! Eben is at Awana! I'll go ask him how to get home. Ok, so I turn in to the church parking lot, and then I park into that cement thing.

LC3 Family Reunion

This year at family reunion, Mama and Dada were the people that dress up and act in front of the church. This was my second time going to camp. LC3 reunion was at black lake bible camp. Every one at church could come if they wanted to, and there were lots of places to stay. We stayed in the lake house. Because Mama and Dada were usually busy, we were allowed to wander around the camp during break time. There were 2 carpet ball places, and one none of the other kids knew about, and was right in front of our cabin. Camp was really fun. In the morning and at night all of the kids went to kids club, and the adults went to church. I went to kids club the first night, and for the rest of camp I helped in toddlers club. There was one baby at toddlers club, his name was Kaid. Me and Bethlehem took turns holding him. On the last day, there were skits. I got to be in one! It was the only one with all kids acting. It was called the ambulance scene. In it, Brendan came on stage and said ''I think I am going to die.'' and then he falls on the floor. Then, Bethlehem and I come out and say,'' I think he is dead.'' Then I call 911 on my fingers and Megan comes in, caring Tarah on her back going ''we or, we or, we or.'' Then Meagan rolls him over and says that he is dead. Then Olivia says ''cut, cut! I am trying to make a skit!'' and then we repeat it over and over. The next time we did it all laughing, and then really dramatic and then Olivia told us to combine them together. Finally, at the end, she yelled''I give up!'' and threw down her clipboard. Also on the last day, I got to go on the blob! The blob is a gigantic plastic pillow. You jump on it from about 20 feet, crawl to the end, and then have someone launch you into the air and land in the water. Oh yea, Mama and Dada also made up games for us to do in the field. There were also minuet to win it games. This years theme was the amazing race. I loved it!

Baby Bear

Baby Bear is not born yet. We do not know if it is a boy or a girl. Opal and Pella think it will be a girl. Eben, Jasper and Berg think it will be a boy. I am still debating. Baby bear is 5 and a half months old. I will call Baby bear a boy for this blog. We heard about him on mothers day, at Sea side Oregon.  Now we always kiss him goodnight, and are hugging him and kissing him though out the day. Baby Bear is going to be my 7th sibling! We have all been wanting a new sibling since Pella was declared a toddler. With Pella, me and Eben were both debating, and we wanted separate genders. Eben said that he was going to teach her all about being a boy. We all talked to Pella a lot when she was still in Mama's tummy. I talked to her the most, and now at night she cries "Kivi" when she needs something. I really want baby bear to be a girl, but that would ruin our pattern.

Camping at the dairy farm

Last weekend we went to the Vanderpol's uncle's farm. We went there because Mama wanted to see a calf be born. We camped out on their aunt's backyard, which was within walking distance to the cows and calves. The pregnant cows were within a 5 minute driving distance, so that it was quieter for them. We stayed for a day and a half. There were 5 calves born while we were there, but we only got to see 3. The first calf took about an hour, but was a girl and was healthy.

Two of the calves were bulls, and since it was a dairy farm, they had to go to a special pen where another calf already was so that they could be sold. The last two were twin girls, and were backwards. Mama got to pull the second one out! But, they were both dead. Only Mama, Mr. Vanderpol, Eben, Julia, Jasper, Simeon, Malachi, and I got to see the twins. While we were there, we also got to see them make cows pregnant, and we got to go in the pregnant cow pen, and the going-to-be-pregnant pen! We also got to bottle feed the calves.

It was really fun (and sad)!

Christ Lutheran VBS

The week after our vbs, we went to a different one. They separated us by which grade we were going into, so I was in 4th grade. Eben was in 5th grade, so I didn't get to see him. There were a lot of volunteers! In each grade there were at least 4 helpers! On my team there were 2 people named Kevin. They were both helpers. I made a friend named Emma who had been ''going to that vbs for many years.'' We had a nice teacher that gave us candy if we said our verse. All of the verses except for the first one were from 1st Corinthians 13, so I knew them already. It was Island themed. They had a lot of decorations! On thursday night there was a performance. We did not go be cause Mama had not heard about it.

VBS

This year at vbs, our church did a theme on the Israelites going to the Promise Land. Mr. Logan was Moses. Mama was the dance leader again, and this year  Eben was one of her dance helpers. Mama had to talk him into it. I was on team Dan. Our cheer went like this: '' Dan, Dan, we are the clan. Our only weapon is a frying pan; we go to battle, we go to war. And everywhere we go we praise the Lord! On this land we trod, we will trust in God!  I was on Ms. Dolores's team. This year at the market place, there was butter. I tried to make it three times. The first 2 times I tried, I had glass containers and they both broke. The third time I tried I had a plastic container with no marble and it still broke. All you had to do to make it was shake it up and down! Also at the market there were animals. On thursday, it was our turn to bring our half-grown chicks. On the 1st day there was a pony and 3 goats. More people liked the chicks than the pony! I guess it was because you could only brush out the pony and goats, and could catch, pet, hold and feed the chicks. There was also a bakery which I went to 2 times. At Moses time, we went through the red sea, ate manna and quail, and heard Moses snore. It was really fun this year.

Day Camp

Last week we went to visit the DeyArmins. We went to day camp at Shilo while we were there. We brought down the Erikson's trailer, and slept in it. At day camp we learned about the bible, and made up motions to go with it. The journey through the Bible went like this: Creation, Fall, Flood, Israel, Law, Judges, Kings, Prophets, Christ, Pentecost, Church, Persecution, Us, Rapture, Tribulation, Eternity. We made a map of that on the last day. It was really fun! Me and Elijah were put on the same team, orange team. At pool time, my goal was to protect the torpedoes for Little Bit, my friend at camp. Her real name is Elizabeth, but everyone calls her Little Bit. On orange team there were only 3 girls, the rest boys. The girls were Eliana, Little Bit and I. Camp started at 9 am. and ended at 4pm. I loved it a lot!

My Food Poem

Food is delicious, food is great. I don't  really like a great big steak. Almost all food is delicious, but not all of it is  nutritious. Most sweets are good, really delicious treats. They don't make you good and strong, just save that for the vegetable song. I like most vegetables salted and cooked. Vegetables are good, I'm really hooked. Broccoli is my favorite, I really like to savor it. I really like, though a nice bowl of peas. Pass them over, if you please! Cupcakes are really also really yummy, they are good to my tummy. Frosting though, is not very good. To you, though, taste good it should. I really like sometimes you see, a nice drink of milk, and a cookie. Pie is good, or so I say. I think you should eat it every day.

Awana Awards night

''Awana awards night is almost here! It is my favorite Awana night of the year! We go on stage and get announced, and sometimes our names get mispronounced.'' On Awards night all the kids in Awana get to go on stage and get the prizes that they earned that year. For instance, if you were in cubbies, your first year, you would get your cubbie hopper book diploma. If you were in you second year of sparks, you would get a blue ribbon and a certificate.

Jasper The Architect

My little brother Jasper loves to build. He usually builds with blocks, and can build a massive temple with them in 3 minutes. Because of little siblings, knees and elbows, every time he builds something, it is destroyed in 3 seconds. So, because of that, he has to rebuild his things 3,4, or 5 times before he can show them to Mama. Sometimes he will build churches,  (Note, all of the pictures are below the labels, please do not be confused.)

sometimes he builds temples,

once he built a ramp with a trap!

This is the death tower, as he calls it.

This is the smasher.

This is a compass.

This is a giant hand watch.

I taught him how to make a train, and he caught on right away! A little while farther in this post and you will see his passenger train.

This is his pirate shaped steering wheel.

This is the un-leaning tower of pisa.

This is the China Temple.

This, as he calls it, is called Bible story.

This is the triangle.

And of course, this is the sundial on the wall.

Don't forget his nunchucks!

And this is his passenger train.

This is the sun tower.

The double pig trough is also cool. I had him build some thin with only 8 blocks, instead of using the whole box.

This is a movie of him building something. Don't watch it because it doesent work.

My Fashion

I have my own fashion.  I  like it, and wear it every day, unless I am wake boarding or skiing. In it I wear lots of skirts. My getting dressed goes something like this: Take off pjs. Put on a tank top.  Put on clean underwear. Put on pants and skirt # 1, the longest. Then skirt # 2, that only lets skirt #1 show an inch. Then skirt # 3, 4 and so on. My record of skirt wearing is 12 skirts at a time. Usually they go higher then my waist, but usually they only go up to my waist. I have 3 drawers over flowing with skirts. I can barely close them! One of my skirts, the longest and my favorite, is all brown and brushes the floor when I walk. When I wear my heelys with that skirt, you can't see my heelys so it looks like I'm a ghost hovering over the floor. Eben calls that my ghost costume.

Easter

Easter is always fun. Everyone hides Easter eggs full of candy for kids to find. Kids eat lots of candy, start feeling sick, but keep eating more candy.

Easter got her name from a roman goddess, named Eostre. You pronounce that Estie. She was said to send bunnies to deliver eggs to the people. That is how the easter bunny got started. We have changed Eostre's name to Easter.

If you are a Christian call Easter Resurrection Sunday! Not Easter!

Because of this myth parents go out and hide eggs for their kids to find. Then the kids find them, and eat the tasty treats inside them. On Resurrection Sunday, my siblings and I take turns hiding plastic candy filled eggs around the yard, after we have found the ones Mama hides for us to find. We also find the big Resurrection basket, and eat the goodies in there, too. Grandma and Grandpa also come over, and last year Grandpa hid eggs filled with pennies. Pella found most of them. Resurrection Sunday is almost here, so get ready!

Opal's flower fiesta

This year for Opal's birthday party she decided to have a flower fiesta. Mama bought her a big beautiful dress, but it was too big so Opal said I could wear it for a Mexican dance Eben and I did. For her party, Opal didn't want a cake, but cookies. She wanted gigantic cookies all stacked on top of one another. The flavors from bottom to top were Strawberry lemonade, a giant snicker doodle, then a oatmeal cookie on top with the Mexican flag and on top of that was a pink flower and the words,' Happy Birthday Opal !' In purple frosting.  She also had a piñata, shaped like a flower, and it was the same rules as always, youngest first. I didn't break it open, but instead hit my pelvis. It hurt. I can still feel it, and that was1 and a half weeks ago. It took about 3 rounds of hitting the piñata  before it finally broke open. It was filled with tootsie rolls and 2 tootsie pops.  Then she opened presents. Opal had lots of presents. Here are some things she got, to name a few: a balloon, some linking jewelry, 3 bags of bubble gum, clothes and markers. We had fun and Opal loved it. For food we had enchiladas,  quesadillas and refried beans. For drinks we had horchata and lots of other Mexican drinks. We also had water. Opal invited just the right amount of people, which we thought was too less. She made up a very fun party and helped with the clean up.

Rosie, Rosie, Rosie. Always frolicking in the posies. I say no, she says yes. Sometimes she does the dishes, and she does her best. I try to be friends with her but she refuses. She says she has... to many bruises. I say no, She says yes. Sometimes she does the laundry, she does her best. I try to be friends,  but she says no. She says she looks like the panda bear Po.

WARNING: This poem is not about me. I just made it up while I was thinking of what to write my real poem on.

Skiing

I love to ski. Just last weekend we went to Snoqualmie to ski and have dinner and learn how to snowboard.  The Schocks came with us. They had to learn how to ski too, so Eben and I didn't go on the big ski lift that much. Instead, we stayed at the magic carpet to help Grace and Nathaniel learn. We had brought two little learning snowboards, and Nathaniel and Grace used them. Eben and I took turns letting Grace wear our ski boots and skis so that we could learn how to snowboard. We soon figured out that snowboarding was way harder on your own than when we were three and had a rope attached to both ends of the snowboard with Dada pulling us making sure we don't fall. The first time I tried to snowboard, I fell off. Then, I just hopped on my stomach on my snowboard and raced after Grace. I did the same thing the second try. Then, on my third try, I tried to do it standing up. I failed. Then I put my straps back on with help from Grace, who had accidentally fallen in the same spot. I tried it again and made it to the bottom, then clasped. I did it again then switched boots with Grace again. This went on for a really long amount of time, possibly a couple hours. Then Eben and I went on the big lift. Then again three more times. We went back to the magic carpet after that to where Grace was about to board the magic carpet with Opal and Jasper and Nathaniel. We kept going, switching and going, until Mama suggested she, Eben, me, Jasper, and Nathaniel all go up on the big lift. We agreed for Eben and I to go on one lift first, and Mama, Jasper, and Nathaniel go next on another lift after us. We did that until the lift closed, which was about midnight. We walked  to a little Mexican restaurant, who's doors were always unlocked for skiers, like us, to keep our stuff in and to come in out of the cold for refreshing and going to the bathroom, and other things.  We called it the lodge. The adults took turns taking care of Pella and Berg. We made trips to the lodge regularly through out the trip. It was a lot of fun! I hope we get to go again next time!

Christmas 2014

Every year, on Christmas Eve, we open up the white presents under the tree. They are always P Js. This year Opal and I asked for Christmas nightgowns. On Christmas Eve, we got our wish! Opal, Pella and I got dresses. Mama, the boys and Dada got pants.
That night, we all had a sleep over in the boy's room. I made our beds. In the morning, Grandma and Grandpa were not there yet, so we had to start without them. The Christmas morning schedule then began. First, we all went upstairs with Mama. We meet Dada at the top of the stairs where Dada lights the candles on the cinnamon rolls or cake, and we sing happy birthday to Jesus. Then we all blow out one candle each.

We then all sit on the couch and we take turns reading Luke 2.
Then we eat the breakfast desert and go over to the stockings. We all open stockings and give Dada hugs and say thank you. Then Grandma and Grandpa open their stockings and so do Mama and Dada. Before we wake up, Dada always puts Nonnie and Poppie on ichat. Then we open presents from under the tree. Eben and Me get one present under the tree for every one. We open the presents one by one. Age order. Then Dodie and Mr. Steave come. And so does cousins. Then we play with our toys and show them to Nonnie and Poppie. (We are eating snacks through the whole day.) That is mainly all of Christmas. Wait! I forgot something. Dada always sets up a scavenger hunt all around the house. This year, we found a Wii and new dishes at the end of the scavenger hunt in the car! Then me and Eben and Jasper played Wii until dinner. Ok, now I am done!
