Skiing

I love to ski. Just last weekend we went to Snoqualmie to ski and have dinner and learn how to snowboard.  The Schocks came with us. They had to learn how to ski too, so Eben and I didn't go on the big ski lift that much. Instead, we stayed at the magic carpet to help Grace and Nathaniel learn. We had brought two little learning snowboards, and Nathaniel and Grace used them. Eben and I took turns letting Grace wear our ski boots and skis so that we could learn how to snowboard. We soon figured out that snowboarding was way harder on your own than when we were three and had a rope attached to both ends of the snowboard with Dada pulling us making sure we don't fall. The first time I tried to snowboard, I fell off. Then, I just hopped on my stomach on my snowboard and raced after Grace. I did the same thing the second try. Then, on my third try, I tried to do it standing up. I failed. Then I put my straps back on with help from Grace, who had accidentally fallen in the same spot. I tried it again and made it to the bottom, then clasped. I did it again then switched boots with Grace again. This went on for a really long amount of time, possibly a couple hours. Then Eben and I went on the big lift. Then again three more times. We went back to the magic carpet after that to where Grace was about to board the magic carpet with Opal and Jasper and Nathaniel. We kept going, switching and going, until Mama suggested she, Eben, me, Jasper, and Nathaniel all go up on the big lift. We agreed for Eben and I to go on one lift first, and Mama, Jasper, and Nathaniel go next on another lift after us. We did that until the lift closed, which was about midnight. We walked  to a little Mexican restaurant, who's doors were always unlocked for skiers, like us, to keep our stuff in and to come in out of the cold for refreshing and going to the bathroom, and other things.  We called it the lodge. The adults took turns taking care of Pella and Berg. We made trips to the lodge regularly through out the trip. It was a lot of fun! I hope we get to go again next time!

Christmas 2014

Every year, on Christmas Eve, we open up the white presents under the tree. They are always P Js. This year Opal and I asked for Christmas nightgowns. On Christmas Eve, we got our wish! Opal, Pella and I got dresses. Mama, the boys and Dada got pants.
That night, we all had a sleep over in the boy's room. I made our beds. In the morning, Grandma and Grandpa were not there yet, so we had to start without them. The Christmas morning schedule then began. First, we all went upstairs with Mama. We meet Dada at the top of the stairs where Dada lights the candles on the cinnamon rolls or cake, and we sing happy birthday to Jesus. Then we all blow out one candle each.

We then all sit on the couch and we take turns reading Luke 2.
Then we eat the breakfast desert and go over to the stockings. We all open stockings and give Dada hugs and say thank you. Then Grandma and Grandpa open their stockings and so do Mama and Dada. Before we wake up, Dada always puts Nonnie and Poppie on ichat. Then we open presents from under the tree. Eben and Me get one present under the tree for every one. We open the presents one by one. Age order. Then Dodie and Mr. Steave come. And so does cousins. Then we play with our toys and show them to Nonnie and Poppie. (We are eating snacks through the whole day.) That is mainly all of Christmas. Wait! I forgot something. Dada always sets up a scavenger hunt all around the house. This year, we found a Wii and new dishes at the end of the scavenger hunt in the car! Then me and Eben and Jasper played Wii until dinner. Ok, now I am done!
